Empower youth to be tomorrow’s leaders of diverse, equitable, and inclusive communities.

Drive a culture of engagement for youth of all ages to foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusivity.

Enhance social-emotional learning and consider multiple perspectives to cultivate youth leaders with 21st-century global skills.

We will do this by:

  • Identifying and understanding the root causes of social issues as a way to foster healing and justice

  • Collaborating with a wide variety of community organizations -- local, regional, and global – including school communities, educational institutions, parents, students, teachers, providers, and practitioners.

  • Supporting multicultural education

Support the GLC

We strive to find new ways to strengthen connections between students, families, the school, and community partners and encourage you to share any and all ideas you may have. Our organization always appreciates the generosity and involvement of people like you, with every contribution going towards improving the programming and service delivery of the The Greater Little Compton Collaborative.

Collaborating with the LCEF to sponsor the Book Fair

Partnering with the Little Compton Education Foundation allowed the GLC to amplify the impact of their efforts. The collaboration extended beyond the event itself, as both organizations worked hand in hand to raise awareness about the importance of literacy.

The success of this joint endeavor underscored the power of collaboration in nurturing a community's love for learning. The GLC and the Little Compton Education Foundation united in their dedication to literacy, left an indelible mark, reinforcing the idea that when organizations come together for a shared cause, the impact can be profound and enduring.

GLC Partnership Making a Positive Impact on Childhood Food Insecurity

Childhood Hunger Initiative Program
GLC is partnering with organizations to address the critical issue of food insecurity, particularly among children who may not have access to nourishing meals after school hours. Through this collaboration, we aim to make a lasting difference in our community and beyond.

The cornerstone of our joint initiative is the Childhood Hunger Initiative Program, (CHIP) which has been designed to specifically target the challenges faced by youth when it comes to food accessibility outside regular school hours specifically on weekends and holidays. GLC understands the importance of addressing this issue comprehensively to ensure that no child goes to bed hungry.

The CHIP Program focuses on implementing sustainable solutions that go beyond immediate relief. It encompasses a range of activities and interventions, including:

1. The backpack program: We are working closely with local schools to provide children with meals for the weekends and holidays. This ensures that they receive the nourishment they need to thrive academically and socially.

2. Community Outreach and Education: The Program places a strong emphasis on community engagement. We are organizing outreach events and educational programs to raise awareness about the issue of childhood food insecurity.

3. Partnerships with Local Businesses: We are forging partnerships with local businesses to create a sustainable network of support.

4. Volunteer Opportunities: We invite community members to actively participate in the CHIIP Program through volunteering.

Our collective goal is to create a ripple effect, inspiring positive change in the lives of these children and fostering a sense of community that transcends town borders. We believe that by addressing childhood food insecurity and working together, we can build a brighter future for the next generation.

We are excited about the potential of the Childhood Hunger Initiative Program and the positive impact it will have on the lives of children, locally.
